This little light of mine.....

Look two posts in one week! Woohoooo I'm on a roll. hehe.

I sat here the other day reading back through all my blog posts and felt that I need to apologize to you - my sweet little blog and my two not so loyal readers. I've done a loooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooot of whining over the past year and for that I am truly sorry. This blog was orginally designed for me to share my daily thoughts, crafty projects, eventually give updates to family and friends about what's going on in our life and when the Lord decides to bless us with some baby beans of our own we'd be able share their sweet faces with those we love far away.

Instead it's been a place for me to whine - not so gracefully about work, the weather, loneliness, homesickness and all sorts of other mumbo jumbo.

So my goal for this lil blog in 2011 is to focus more on what is going right, dive deeper into trusting that God has a plan for us and to know and become comfortable with the fact that God has us here, in this moment for a reason.

Our church is reading through the through the Bible in 2011 (www.ownit365.com) This past weekend we talked about Faith. Primarily explaining what Faith is...

• Faith is FOLLOWING God when you don't know where you'll END UP
• Faith is WAITING on God when you don't see ANY DIFFERENCE YET
• Faith is BELIEVING God when your only evidence is GODS WORD 

It's easy to have Faith when things are tough, I've found that while in the middle of my largest trials my Faith is the strongest. Yet, when things are running smoothly my anxiety increases and it's much more difficult to hold on to my Faith. God has been so good to us, God has been so good to me. I do not deserve the love that God showers on me.

A friend of mine made a comment a few days ago that has really stuck with me - convicted me really. I want to be a bright shinny light that scares all the darkness away - - I want to be a bright shinny Texas light that drives the darkness crazy with some sweet southern charm. :o)

"Don't dim your light to make the darkness more comfortable" 

 

In the new year I'm praying for and ask if the Lord lays it on your heart to pray with us....my list will change from time to time as all prayers do. I'm excited for what the new year will bring.

• For the Lord to work in BIG ways in our marriage, jobs, family and lives. 
• Work towards being debt free - continue paying down my students loans (the quicker the better). 
• Contentment in my heart to be happy where I am right now. 
• Boldness and confidence in my chosen profession if the Lord see's fit 
• For the Lord to be the focus and foundation of my marriage. 
• To increase my Faith and continue to shape who I am.
