Exploring KC: Part 1

Weekends are my favorite - two glorious days spent not at work that I can spend with Mr. B doing things we enjoy. After being in KC for almost 2 years now (really? that long, geeze) we decided that we should get out and explore our local area. Now don't get me wrong, we've discovered local restaurants, the local farmers market, and local quilt shops but we haven't gotten out and checked out the museums, history sights and so forth.

So today we ventured out first to the farmers market for some local produce (My favorite!) and then we headed to the Frontier Museum that explains the Oregon/Santa Fe trails from back in the day. We lucked out on dollar day (regularly 6.00 dollars - ugh!) but were a little disappointed in the content of the museum, things missing, posters torn and mostly anecdotal information. However, it was fun to get out and explore the community. :o)

Today was also my sweet nephews birthday bash in TX, he turned the big 1 back in April. They just got around to celebrating today, we were very disappointed that we weren't able to be in town for the big party but we sent happy thoughts and delivered presents early. When we were in TX back at the first of April we delivered a quilt and some nifty name bands for cups and snack bins. Hopefully they are getting great use out of both things. He's the sweetest little boy ever, I so wish we were closer right now so I could spend more time with him.

We also tried a new place for dinner - we're really trying to spice up our dinner out routine so after a day of exploring we tried Hooligans Restaurant - not to bad once they fixed Mr. B's salad. Def. be putting it into our dinner routine.

Topped the night off with cupcakes and ice cream in honor of the little one's birthday and a little Burn Notice. We are counting down until last seasons is released around the first of June. woohooo.

nighty night.
